Just make sure to do your research! Choose a hotel with solid reviews, in a safe area that’s close to public transport. Always check that your room has a secure door bolt or chain lock, and trust your instincts about the overall vibe.

And here’s the golden rule: never choose budget over safety. Your peace of mind is everything. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to leave and find a safer option.

How do I stay safe as a solo female traveller?

Staying safe as a solo female traveller isn’t that different from staying safe at home. Of course, every destination has its vibe, and safety can vary between big cities and smaller towns. But the basic safety tips for women remain the same.

It might feel more intimidating simply because you’re stepping out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. That’s totally normal! But with a bit of preparation, there’s no need to stress.
