The Best 8 Boutique Hotels in Seoul For Women Travellers in 2025

Looking for the best boutique hotels in Seoul for your next solo adventure? I’ve been obsessively bookmarking stylish stays in Seoul. Places that feel like a vibe, not just a room.
When I travel, where I stay sets the tone. And if my budget allows, I skip the big chains and go straight for the boutique gems—those charming spots with thoughtful design, rooftop views, hidden courtyards, and little touches that make you think “ugh, I never want to leave.”
Don’t get me wrong, hotel chains are reliable, but I love a stay that feels personal and full of character. Some of my favourite Seoul finds have been places with local art on the walls, calm corners for journaling, or peaceful terraces where you can sip your morning coffee in total bliss.
So if you’re planning a comeback trip, your first solo getaway, or just want to feel inspired by where you sleep, I’ve got you covered. These are the boutique hotels in Seoul that caught my eye, made my notes app, and are totally worth bookmarking for your next adventure.

When is the best time to visit Seoul?
Seoul has pretty extreme seasons, with hot, humid summers and cold winters. If you’re thinking about when to go, timing does make a difference to your trip.
I’ve been to Seoul in August, and honestly, it was sweltering. The heat and humidity made sightseeing tough and not so enjoyable.
I’ve also been in mid-December, and while it was freezing with snow, I still think winter is easier to handle than summer. You can dress for the cold! Just make sure you pack thermal layers (I swear by Uniqlo heat-tech shirts), snow boots, a thick winter jacket with a hood, and gloves. You’ll thank yourself later.
The best times to visit Seoul are spring and autumn. In spring, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and the city looks magical.
In autumn, you’ll get beautiful fall foliage in the parks and mountains. These seasons are also the most popular, so expect more crowds, but the scenery makes up for it.
Which area in Seoul is the best to stay?
Myeongdong
If you want to be right in the heart of Seoul, Myeong-dong is one of the best places to base yourself. It’s central and well-connected to the rest of the city, making it easy to get around. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by endless shopping streets, beauty stores, food stalls, and cafés.
Myeong-dong is my preferred area to stay in. It’s close to Seoul Station, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and even Insadong is within walking distance (if you like to walk).

Gangnam
Gangnam might be just what you’re looking for if it’s luxury shopping malls and trendy spots. You’ll find plenty of great mid-range to high-end hotel options here.
One of the best areas to explore is Apgujeong; it’s stylish, vibrant, and slightly more refined than the busy tourist areas.
It’s a great base if you want to explore Apgujeong and experience a more polished side of Seoul while still keeping things comfortable and budget-friendly.

Hongdae
If you love nightlife, live music, cool restaurants, and an all-around fun, young vibe, then Hongdae is the place for you. It’s known as Seoul’s student neighbourhood, so there’s always something going on, especially in the evenings.
Whether you’re heading out for drinks, checking out local clubs, or catching a street performance (who knows, you might just see the next BTS), you won’t be bored here.
Plus, there are loads of amazing restaurants, cosy cafés, and even some nice wine bars tucked away in the side streets.
Itaewon
If you want an international vibe during your stay in Seoul, Itaewon is a fantastic area. It’s known for its diverse mix of cultures, global cuisine, trendy bars, and lively nightlife.
You’ll find everything from rooftop lounges to cosy cafés, plus shops and restaurants that cater to a more international crowd. Itaewon is also well-connected by public transport, making it easy to explore the rest of the city.
It’s a great choice if you enjoy a social, energetic atmosphere and want to experience a different side of Seoul that blends local culture with global influences.

What is the difference between a luxury hotel and a boutique hotel?
Both can be luxurious, but what sets a boutique hotel apart is that it typically has fewer than 100 rooms. The service is more personal, the vibe is a lot cosier, and it has a unique charm compared to big, luxurious chain hotels.
The most important thing is to feel safe and comfortable, wherever you choose to stay. I love to stay in boutique or design hotels, because they add a little extra to my trip.
The best boutique hotels in Seoul
1. RYSE Autograph Collection by Marriott
Located in lively Hongdae and just a short walk from Hongik University Station, RYSE is a stylish boutique hotel that blends design and comfort.
Ryse is an ultra-cool and artsy, perfect for creatives and design lovers. Think industrial-chic interiors, art installations, and a vibrant neighbourhood full of cafes and galleries.
Head to the hotel’s Side Note Club for drinks and music in a trendy setting. Perfect for travellers who want to stay somewhere cool, comfortable, and close to all the action.
Yes, this is a splurge, but worth it for the comfort and the location on a treat-yourself trip!

2. Bukchonae Hanok
If you’re looking for a cosy and peaceful place to stay in Seoul’s historic heart of Insadong, Bukchonae is a lovely option. Located just a short walk from major sites like Gyeongbokgung Palace, it’s a great base for exploring the city’s traditional side.
This guesthouse has a quiet garden, a shared kitchen, private bathrooms, and full-day security. Bukchonae is perfect if you want to get the full Korean experience by staying in a traditional hanok.

3. Hotel28 Myeongdong
Hotel28 Myeongdong is a stylish boutique hotel with a cool cinematic theme and the honour of being Korea’s first member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It’s located right in the heart of Myeongdong, surrounded by shopping, cafés, and culture.
Each floor showcases film-inspired art, adding a unique creative touch. The hotel also has great facilities, including a rooftop garden.
It’s a short 7-minute walk to Myeongdong Station, and there’s an airport limousine bus stop only 80 metres away.

4. Cappuccino Gangnam
Cappuccino is a trendy eco-lifestyle hotel with a cool rooftop bar and chic design elements, plus a strong focus on sustainability. There is an on-site restaurant, bar, and 24-hour front desk.
It’s located near Cheongdam-dong and the COEX Convention Centre, perfect if you love shopping. Some rooms might be a bit on the smaller side, but if you’re travelling alone, it’s perfect.
The overall vibe of this hotel is unique, and the location in Gangnam is fantastic.

5. Mondrian Seoul Itaewon
If you’re after a chic, upscale stay in one of Seoul’s trendiest neighbourhoods, Itaewon, Mondrian Seoul Itaewon is a great pick. Just over a kilometre from the National Museum of Korea, this hotel has everything you need for a comfortable and stylish city escape.
Yes, this hotel is quite big, but it’s worth it, with its ideal location and perfect service in Itaewon.
There’s an indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool, and you can also wind down with a drink at the hotel bar or the on-site restaurant.

I had to include Hotel Lemong in this top list of boutique-like hotels in Seoul. If you’re looking for a comfortable and well-located base in Seoul, Hotel Lemong is a lovely option.
Just a short walk from Myeongdong Cathedral, this 3-star hotel offers everything you need relaxing stay.
There’s a cute shared lounge and garden. The hotel is within easy reach of Jongmyo Shrine, Gwangjang Market, and Myeongdong Station, making it super convenient for sightseeing. I just love the kitsch and unique interior.

7. Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel
Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel is a fun, design-forward hotel in Itaewon. Just a quick 3-minute walk from Itaewon Station, it’s a fantastic location if you want to explore the area’s mix of global cuisine, nightlife, and cultural spots like nearby Namsan Tower.
The hotel has started renovating its rooms as of 2025, so you might get to enjoy one of the refreshed, modern interiors. I love the decor—it’s bold, a little quirky, and adds so much character to your stay.

8. L’Escape Hotel
L’Escape Hotel in Seoul instantly felt like stepping into Paris without leaving Korea. It’s a chic boutique hotel with an elegant, romantic design that makes you want to slow down and soak up every detail.
This small hotel isn’t exactly my usual style, but it’s a refreshing change from the standard hotels you see all over Seoul. If you’re into that Parisian vibe, though, this place will be totally your thing.
The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable city stay, and the service is attentive. The location couldn’t be better, you’re close to some of Seoul’s must-see spots like Namdaemun Market,
