What type of gifts are great for your flight attendant friend?
Flight attendants are travellers; we are always on the move. Anything that has something to do with travel or that would make travelling easier would always be good. Duh…
We also spend a lot of time in hotel rooms, which is fantastic but will never beat sleeping in our own beds. Gifts that make us feel homey and comfortable or add to our self-care routine are great.
When doing our jobs, there’s also much time to kill, especially on the flight, between meal services, on the crew bus, or just by the pool. Anything that we could get that would help with pastime is fantastic. Think of a Netflix subscription, an iPad, a Kindle, ebooks, or Amazon Audible.
The Ultimate Gift Guide For A Flight Attendant
1. Any awesome subscription service
I’m starting with this because I know how fantastic and helpful a subscription to something I love would be! What kind of subscription depends on the person, but you can never go wrong with:
If your person is into podcasts and audible books, I highly recommend Amazon Audible.
2. Small TSA-approved toiletry bag
This clear TSA-approved toiletry bag is a must for any beauty or general travel essentials on a flight or trip. I keep mine in my in-flight bag, and it’s stuffed with makeup, skincare, my toothbrush, and maybe a strip of Tylenol. I love this little extra compartment this toiletry bag has.

3. Sonicare Rechargeable Toothbrush
I have this exact portable rechargeable toothbrush. Another flight attendant friend referred it to me, and I have been using it ever since. I really don’t want to bring my own electric toothbrush when travelling because I might end up leaving it in a hotel.
It’s great for travel and comes with a travel case.

4. Airfly
This Airfly device is such a fantastic invention! You plug it into the inflight entertainment on board, and it connects to any headphone through Bluetooth. It’s an awesome gift that will definitely make a flight attendant or solo traveller happy.

5. Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones
Noise-cancelling headphones are a must to fully enjoy the movies on board, listen to music, and maybe block out that crying baby. This is a fantastic gift not only for travel but anywhere. These Bose noise-cancelling headphones are fabulous!

6. Passport Wallet Holder
Passport covers are a no-go! Most of the time, you have to remove the cover at customs anyway. A passport wallet holder that can also be used as a wallet is an excellent gift for a flight attendant or traveller to keep everything organised. There is room to keep all valuables like a passport, credit cards and other documents in one place.

7. She Birdie Personal Safety Alarm
Show your travel spouse or friends that you care about their safety! This She Birdie personal safety alarm can be used as a key chain. It produces an alarm when triggered. Not the sexiest gift, but for sure a thoughtful one for the female solo traveller.

8. Kindle
How can someone not love to get a Kindle? Reading books is the ultimate pastime on a flight, at the beach or by the pool. While I still strongly feel that books should be made from paper, having a Kindle is easier. Nobody wants to carry around a dozen books.

9. Get Your Guide Gift Card
Every traveller will book a tour at some point during their travels. Especially flight attendants will always look for fun things to do at every destination. I have made countless bookings with Get Your Guide and would love for someone to give me a Get Your Guide Gift Card.
10. Kimono Bathrobe
This beautiful kimono bathrobe is lightweight and a beautiful gift for the female traveller! When relaxing in the hotel or having self-care me-time, this bathrobe will add to the feeling of pampering!

11. Hydro Flask Tumbler
A tumbler is a must on the flight (and anywhere else)! You can ask to have your drinks poured into your tumbler instead of those little paper cups. As a flight attendant, I have my own tumbler during work and in my hotel room. It makes me feel a little bit at home, and drinking from this Hydro Flask Tumbler tastes a lot better.

12. Vera Bradley Weekender Bag
A weekend bag, in addition to a carry-on, is fantastic! It’s perfect for a short weekend away, or to take along a smaller trip. This Vera Bradley Weekender Bag is made of durable and lovely material and has cute designs.

13. Apple Watch
If you want a nice gift for a loved one, an Apple Watch is the way to go! Does an Apple Watch really need an explanation? I love how I don’t have to physically change time zones with my Apple Watch when travelling to different time zones. That is next to all the other perks an Apple Watch has!

14. Sleep Headphones Mask
This gift is great for flight attendants in the crew rest area! When it’s time to rest, it’s nice to be able to drown the plane noise out while wearing a sleeping mask. This goes for the traveller too, whether it’s on the flight or at night in bed. This sleeping headphone mask is perfect for that! I usually listen to rain or sea sounds!

15. Refillable Perfume Bottles
This a small gift that would be perfect as a stocking filler. Big perfume bottles are a hassle and take up too much space. These little refillable perfume bottles are perfect to fill up with perfume and to take along on every trip.

16. Leather Backpack
Sometimes, it’s handy to have a smaller backpack when travelling if you don’t have a lot of stuff to take along. I have a similar leather backpack that fits a bit more than a standard shoulder bag, like a water bottle, a notebook, and a selfie stick. Most importantly, this one has a zipper compartment on the back for valuables.

17. Journal Notebook
A notebook is a must for the traveller! And with the journaling trend, it’s a perfect gift under the Christmas Tree. I have bought so many (expensive) notebooks, but I love this Stone Paper Notebook! It writes smoothly, and the paper has no ink bleed-through so that every page can be used!

18. a stylish scarf
A scarf is a must-have item for flight attendants and travellers, and it is a must in this gift guide for your flight attendant friend! Scarfs are great for wearing during a flight, during any winter layover, or to accessorize an outfit.
Back in Kyoto in March 2024, the weather was much colder than expected. Luckily, we had this oversized warm scarf, and it really made all the difference.
